No Man's Sky came out of nowhere and had a massive unveal recently at the Spike TV's VGX Awards show. My first impression was "Starbound in the first-person perspective", where I can actually fly the freakin' space ship!
The trailer below explains that all the planets are procedurally generated, meaning each planet should be wholly unique. After spending some good time in Starbound, recycling of the surface and monsters can be a little boring. Procedural generation (hopefully) means at least some extra variation on the planets you discover.
Like a lot of other people, I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the upcoming Titanfall. Now with this No Man's Sky reveal trailer, is Titanfall what I'm salivating over the most? It's hard to say. Without an announced release date, it may not even be an issue of the two competing. I get caught up in competitive MP easily, but exploration and the ability to do my own thing really appeal to me. Throw in some scraps of a story, and I'm hooked! I'm sure the Hello Games team will be releasing more details on No Man's Sky as they draw closer to release, so keep an eye out here for more info!
